Joe Holland and the Dynamo have not begun discussing a contract yet, which Holland understands because the club does not yet know if he can hang with MLS players in a competitive environment.
That is about to change.
Acquired with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Holland for the last three weeks has been adjusting to the increased speed of the professional game in Dynamo training camp.
This week the team heads to Tucson, Ariz., for the Desert Diamond Cup in which it will compete in four matches against MLS teams. They will face the New England Revolution, New York City FC and New York Red Bulls over the next week and a fourth team to be determined on Feb.
