The Houston Dynamo ended its relationship with coach Wilmer Cabrera on Tuesday, according to a person with knowledge of the decision.
Following a 5-1-1 record through the first two months of this MLS season, Houston appeared to be one of the strongest teams in the league. But into the summer, the team struggled and progressively slipped out of the playoff picture.
The Dynamo (9-13-3, 30 points) are currently in ninth-place in the Western Conference and in the midst of a four-game losing streak. The club has won just two road games all season.
The move comes after the team's recent 2-1 loss to the Philadelphia Union on Sunday.
