Dynamo hire former MLS Cup champion Paulo Nagamura as new head coach

The Houston Dynamo hired two-time MLS Cup champion Paulo Nagamura as head coach, the club announced Monday. Nagamura, who won MLS titles as a player with the Los Angeles Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City, spent the past four seasons as coach of Sporting Kansas City II, Sporting Kansas City's reserve side with a focus on youth development.

The 38-year-old Nagamura, who will be the second-youngest active head coach in the MLS, replaces Tab Ramos, who was let go after the Dynamo finished last in the MLS's Western Conference.

"This is a magnificent opportunity," Nagamura said in a statement released by the team.
