Despite their recent struggles, the Dynamo are tied for third in the Western Conference in fewest goals allowed (25) and sit just outside of the top five in the league.
Offseason additions at the heart of their backline (central backs Aljaz Struna and Maynor Figueroa) contributed to that improvement but so did a more proactive defensive effort from all 10 players in front of the keeper.
On Thursday, the Dynamo announced the signing of Chilean defender José Bizama, who's expected to add depth and help secure the team's future in the back.
