Houston Dynamo midfielder DaMarcus Beasley scored in the 20th minute and Tyler Deric came up big between the pipes as Houston picked up its first road point of the 2016 MLS season. In the team’s first game since Owen Coyle’s resignation, the team recorded a 1-1 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
More important perhaps than the draw itself was how the team looked as the Houston Dynamo embarked on life after Coyle.
The first noticeable difference was Will Bruin back in the starting line-up. Although the fifth year veteran did not score, it wasn’t evident that he was playing with a renewed sense of perhaps shall we say relief.
