Houston Dash defenderDeneisha Blackwood was named to the Jamaican Women’s National Team provisional roster for the 2021 WNT Summer Series, the Jamaican Football Federation announced today.
Blackwood and the Reggae Girlz are set to open the summer series at BBVA Stadium on June 10 when they take on Nigeria at 4:30 p.m. CT. Jamaica will then face the U.S. Women’s National Team on June 13 at 9:00 p.m. CT in the Dash’s home stadium.
Blackwood, 24, was acquired by Houston on January 26, 2021 as a free agent. The defender made her Dash debut on April 26 when Houston traveled to the Pacific West Coast to play OL Reign, coming off the bench as a sub in the 79th minute to tally 11 minutes under her belt.
