Carli Lloyd has a chance to repeat her greatest achievement to date.
The Dash midfielder is on a short list of 10 players who could be named FIFA Women's Player of the Year for 2016. Lloyd, who captained the USWNT to the World Cup championship in 2015, is the reigning winner.
Lloyd is the only American player on the list. The winner will be announced on Jan. 9 in Zurich, Switzerland.
Lloyd's resume lacks the overall punch it had in 2015 due to the USWNT's Olympic quarterfinal elimination, but her individual statistics stand out. She appeared in 21 of the team's 23 games, helping it compile a 20-0-3 record.
