Carli Lloyd might be zeroing on the world's top soccer honor for the second year in a row.
Lloyd on Friday was named one of three finalists for FIFA's Best Women's Player Award along with Germany's Melanie Behringer and Brazil's Marta.
The Dash and USWNT midfielder will find out on Jan. 9 in Zurich, Switzerland if she wins the award in consecutive years.
Lloyd scored 17 goals for the USWNT during 2016 but lost in the quarterfinals of the Olympics, the first time the USWNT has failed to advance at least to the semifinals of a major international tournament.
