More than two weeks ago, the Dash got the good news that defender Bruna Benites was healthy enough to return to competition.
The better news, however, may be that they no longer needed her to fill any gaping holes in the back line.
Under most circumstances, Benites would have been a shoe-in for the starting XI once she recovered from her knee injury. The game before she returned, though, the Dash shut out Orlando on the road one week after conceding four goals to the Pride in a home game.
Dash interim coach Omar Morales liked what he saw so he stuck with the defensive group of Camille Levin, Janine Van Wyk, Amber Brooks and Poliana.
