The first time Amber Brooks played at Texas A&M's Ellis Field was in 2009 when she was a freshman at the University of North Carolina. She played 64 minutes in the Tar Heels' NCAA semifinal victory over Notre Dame.
The same Notre Dame team coached by Randy Waldrum and led in scoring by Melissa Henderson – Brooks' current coach and teammate with the Dash.
All three were in College Station on Thursday for a preseason game against the Aggies for the second year in a row. This year, however, she let them off the hook.
"I thought, 'OK, I have bugged them enough about it,'" Brooks said Thursday after the Dash's 2-1 victory.
