The Dash closed the NWSL trade window by parting ways with a player who appeared in more than 20 matches over the last two seasons.
They traded former starting goalkeeper Lydia Williams to Seattle Reign FC in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2018 draft. Specifically, the pick is the Boston Breakers' natural second-round pick.
Williams appeared in 15 games in 2016, only missing time to play in the Olympics. She played in eight games at the start of this season after former coach Randy Waldrum picked her as his starter.
Shortly after interim coach Omar Morales took over, he began picking rookie Jane Campbell over Williams.
