The first major off-season move for the Dash involves parting ways with a 2016 Olympic bronze medalist.
The Dash on Tuesday finalized a trade that will send Canadian defender Allysha Chapman to the Boston Breakers.
In return, the Dash receive an international roster spot for the 2017 and 2018 seasons and the No. 15 pick in the 2017 draft, which is in the second round. Before Tuesday's trade, the Dash had only one draft pick - No. 33 overall.
While the draft pick will help, the biggest immediate gain for the Dash is the international roster spot.
