Regarded as a superstar in South Africa, Van Wyk, 29, has been capped 130 times by her national team. That is a record for her country that includes the men.
She is well known in South Africa for starting the JVW Girls Football Development Program, which aims to develop young aspiring players.
Last week van Wyk was named a finalist for the Confederation of African Football's Player of the Year award.
