The Houston Dash capped off a three-game homestand with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over the Chicago Red Stars this evening at BBVA Stadium.
Midfielder Kristie Mewis scored the game-winner off a service from midfielder Sophie Schmidt in the 83rd minute. Mewis’ goal came after her own corner kick was cleared away and the ball fell to Schmidt on the opposite side of the penalty area. The Canadian international drove to the byline before chipping back across the goal where Mewis had raced to the back post and tapped the ball home.
The Red Stars struck first, scoring in the fourth minute through forward Mallory Pugh.
