Houston Dash midfielders Clare Polkinghorne and Kyah Simon were named to the Australian Women's National Team roster for the Tournament of Nations, the Football Federation Australia announced earlier yesterday.
Polkinghorne was signed as a discovery player on June 7 and has started five matches since joining the team. The Dash midfielder has scored eight goals in 105 appearances for the Westfield Matildas. Polkinghorne has represented Australia at three FIFA Women's World Cups and has served as co-captain throughout her international career.
Simon joined Houston after recovering from a hamstring injury on April 25 and has scored a goal and tallied an assist in 11 starts for the season.
