Houston Dash defender Allysha Chapman and forward Nichelle Prince were named to the Canadian Women’s National Team 18-player roster ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Canada Soccer and the Canadian Olympic Committee announced today. Canada’s head coach Bev Priestman also named Dash midfielder Sophie Schmidt as an alternate replacement player.
Both Chapman and Prince were part of the first Canadian Olympic team to win back-to-back medals at a summer Olympic Games in 2016. Canada will kick off their Tokyo 2020 journey when they face Japan in the opening match in Sapporo on July 21 followed by Chile on July 24.
