A.J. DeLaGarza to miss remainder of playoffs with torn left ACL

Houston Dynamo defender A.J. DeLaGarza will miss the remainder of the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

DeLaGarza underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam on Monday at Houston Methodist Hospital, and the results of the exam confirmed the diagnosis. Surgery to repair the injury has not been scheduled at this time, but is expected to be performed in the coming days.

DeLaGarza sustained the injury early in Houston’s 3-0 victory over the Chicago Fire Sunday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium, leaving the game with an announced left knee injury in the 13th minute.
