It was a busy weekend for athletics as the Cougars had four teams in action. As many know, football secured their second win of the season, but other teams also performed well.

Soccer
The Cougars continued their winning streak to start the season, improving to 3-0-1 with a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M — Corpus Christi Friday night. The Islanders got off to an early lead with a goal in the 29th minute, which didn’t last long as junior Selena Peters responded with a goal in the 39th minute off an assist by teammate Vanessa Almaguer.
