The Cougars are preparing to host the eighth-annual Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup Volleyball Tournament, their final tournament before the conference season.
The tournament is in honor of the legendary Cougar volleyball player, Flo Hyman, who died suddenly at the age of 31 due to complications from Marfan Syndrome.
UH began the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup to honor Hyman for the strides she made, not only for volleyball, but for women’s athletics on the collegiate level.
Hyman was the first female Cougar to be awarded an athletic scholarship, and she dominated the court in the three years she spent at UH.
