The 18th-ranked Cougars dominated the Vanderbilt University Commodores on Saturday, winning in all three phases of play and coming out with a 34-0 victory.
A big part of that was the play of the defense, which helped the Cougars to their first shutout victory of the season.
Head coach Tom Herman continued to praise the play of his defensive unit on Monday morning.
“I thought our defense played lights out,” Herman said. “Not just the four turnovers, but in terms of just their fanatical effort, swarming to the football and playing with a lot of passion and intensity.
