The first college football playoff rankings of the season came out on Tuesday, which featured the votes of the 12 committee members assigned with deciding which four teams make it into the college football playoffs at the end of the season.
The premier ranking of this season is quite different from this week’s AP Top 25 poll, with Clemson University coming in as the top-ranked team in the nation.
Louisiana State University is second in the CFP rankings, following by Ohio State University and the University of Alabama rounding out the top four.
A big storyline coming out of the release of the poll is the value the committee put on strength of schedule and quality of win, with two one-loss teams ranked in the top five, ahead of four teams currently without losses.
