The Cougars opened up their National Invitational Tournament with a game against the Georgia Institute of Technology on Wednesday night, but bounced in the first round as they lost 81-62.
After keeping it close in the first half, UH saw Georgia Tech power past them in the second, as they outscored the Cougars, 40-30.
Both the Cougars and the Yellow Jackets opened the game shooting well, with senior forward Devonta Pollard leading the way for UH. But toward the end of the first half, the Cougars went a bit cold as the Jackets took a nine-point lead into the break.
