The Cougar men’s basketball team was down 48-40 at halftime against the University of Memphis Tigers, but they mounted a comeback that led them to a 98-90 victory.
Head coach Kelvin Sampson said he felt the team didn’t have a lot of “juice” early in the game.
A lot of the Cougars’ shots weren’t falling and the Tigers had a 28-9 run over a stretch of 7:41 in the middle of the second quarter that put them up 42-30 with 3:39 left in the first half.
The Cougars buckled down on defense, however, and decreased their deficit to eight points going into halftime.
