The Cougars got action kicked off on Friday night on the road against the Tulane University Green Wave.
Houston jumped out to a 28-7 lead at halftime, and the defense dominated from there, holding Tulane scoreless for the rest of the night.
Junior quarterback Greg Ward, Jr. continued his strong play and junior receiver Demarcus Ayers had a great all-around game, recording a rushing touchdown and a punt return touchdown on a 73-yard return.
