One of the most storied rivalries in Texas college sports, dating back nearly 70 years, continues Tuesday night when the baseball team takes on the Rice University Owls.
Now in different conferences, the schools have seen matchups in football and basketball decline significantly in recent years.
The teams have not met on the football field since the 2013 season, but the Bayou Bucket Classic is scheduled to kick back up in the 2017 and 2019 seasons. UH football leads the all-time series 29-11, winning by an average margin of 13.5.
On the basketball court, UH has enjoyed tremendous success against their cross-town rival.
