Backup QB Schulz out for the season with ACL tear

After Houston stretched the lead last Saturday, 52-7, over Texas State, head coach Tom Herman decided to switch quarterbacks late in the third and let back up Adam Schulz control the offense. During Schulz second drive, he went down with an injury after attempting to rush for a first down.

During his press conference today, Herman announced that an MRI showed a tear in Schulz’s ACL and will have surgery to repair it in the coming weeks.

“I hate that for him. Ever since he’s arrived here in January, he’s done everything that we have asked from him and more,” Herman said.
