The Astros used seven pitchers against the Twins on Friday and it showed on the field. In what was a bullpen game, the hope was that their relievers would bend but not break. More about that later. However, that was certainly the case, in fact, for the first six innings, allowing only four runs. Great? No. Efficient? Not. But passable? Yes. Shawn Dubin allowed three runs in the first 2 2⁄3 innings, but he did his job by providing eight outs. Seth Martinez picked up four outs on only eight pitches. Bryan King in the fifth inning wasn’t stellar as he allowed a run in his only inning of work, but I consider it a win when Rafael Montero pitches and avoids any damage.
