KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Although clearly disappointed after he was left off the Astros’ 25-man Division Series roster, veteran righthanded reliever Chad Qualls vowed to help his teammates.
Manager A.J. Hinch informed Qualls, 37, of the decision Thursday morning before the roster was announced.
“He said it was a tough decision for them to make,” Qualls said. “It’s all right. I’m not going to dwell on it and let it get me down. I’m just going to do what I need to do to help the team and obviously just root them on.
“It’s something they had to do for this series.
