MINNEAPOLIS -- Not even frigid temperatures could cool off Justin Verlander.
Verlander delivered another dominating performance in the Astros' game against the Twins on a cold Monday night at Target Field by firing seven scoreless innings and striking out nine batters for another terrific outing by an Astros starting pitcher.
In eight regular-season starts with the Astros, Verlander has a 1.20 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings.
Verlander's most impressive moment of the season to date came in the seventh, when he struck out Joe Mauer and Miguel Sano on fastballs after giving up a leadoff double to Jason Castro.
