Today in Astros history - December 15

2006 - Baggy retiers

After 15 years in the league, all with the Astros, first baseman Jeff Bagwell calls it quits. The Astros all-time leader in home runs (449), RBI’s (1,529), extra base hits (969) and walks (1,401), Bagwell retired with a .297 batting average and still continues to work in baseball to this day.

2014 - Jed returns

For the second time in his career, shortstop Jed Lowrie signed a deal with the Astros, this time for three-years. This didn’t end up working out though as injuries kept him off the field.
