Astros GM Dana Brown is surely busy right now. He has promised to search for trade targets as the countdown toward the Aug. 30 trade deadline continues. Since we don’t have any inside information on whom the Astros are considering on the trade market, we are left with ruminations and speculation on this intriguing topic.
Given the multiple issues of injuries in the rotation and managing the work load of less experienced starting pitchers, ideally Brown will acquire one—and maybe two—starting pitchers.
Although fortifying the rotation should be the top priority, the lingering injury suffered by Kyle Tucker could prod the front office to consider acquiring an offensive addition at the deadline too.
