The Astros have three starting All-Stars

The Astros got three players elected as starters to the 2019 All-Star game. They were Alex Bregman at 3B, with 49.1% of the vote, George Springer in the OF, with 15.7% of the vote, and Michael Brantley, OF, with 10.8% of the vote.

Brantley might be the biggest surprise of the three, just beating out big-market superstars Aaron Judge and Mookie Betts. But in this writer’s opinion, the voters got it right, as Brantley has clearly superior stats compared to these more famous players.

Another surprise winner at DH, and also deservingly so, was 36 year old former Astro, Hunter Pence of the Texas Rangers, whose career last winter was thought to be over.
