Most of you know the outlines of the story by now. A week ago, former Astro Mike Fiers alleged that during the 2017 season the team used video surveillance to steal signs, and then alerted batters by banging on trash can lids. Baseball has started an investigation.
Yesterday the Athletic revealed that anonymous sources had sent them an email that the Astros’ front office inquired about the possibility of having scouts using cameras, although it is uncertain as to whether this was actually done, or to what use the cameras would have been put.
