More than a year after he was fired by the Astros, former manager Bo Porter has been doing media work during the playoffs and interviewed for the open Marlins managerial job this month. He’s to return to the Braves next season as their third-base coach, the job he held in 2015, if a skipper job doesn’t come through.
Off the field, he’s still working to improve the Houston community even though he’s no longer employed here.
In November, Porter is to host his annual gala in Houston benefitting the Stacey and Bo Porter SELF Foundation.
