With the injury to Josh James this week, for now it looks like the competition for fifth starter is between Brad Peacock and Framber Valdez. Peacock pitched two perfect innings in the Astros’ 7-5 win over the Marlins yesterday, giving solace to Stros fans everywhere. Today it is Valdez’ turn to make his case, opening today against the Cardinals in his second appearance of the Spring. He will be opposed by John Gant.
