What a ride. That Houston sits second in the AL West around early-mid July might not be a huge shock. They were in that position last season and still managed to gain home field for the ALCS. How Houston got there...well, there is that story. A 12-24 start did not appear on anyone’s bingo cards when the year started. Yet, Houston has gone 34-20 since that time, getting back over .500 and only 2 back of the AL-West leading Mariners. While there is some baseball still to be played before the All-Star Break, Houston’s overarching goal of potentially winning its 2nd World Series in 3 years is still in play.
