Domestic assault charges against Roberto Osuna were withdrawn today in a Toronto courtroom. He was charged last May, and suspended 75 days by Major League Baseball. He was traded to the Astros by the Toronto Blue Jays in August.
In exchange for the charges being withdrawn , Osuna agreed to a peace bond, which requires him to not contact the woman he is alleged to have assaulted. He must also continue counseling. Osuna must comply with the conditions of the bond for one year or face criminal charges. Violating these terms could carry a maximum sentence of up to four years’ imprisonment.
