Although he’s lefthanded and a good hitter, Preston Tucker isn’t being looked at as a potential first baseman, manager A.J. Hinch said.
“We’ve worked Luis Valbuena over there a little bit,” Hinch said. “Hank Conger’s gotten a little bit of time over there, Singleton and Carter are both over there. Marwin’s playing there tonight. I’m up to half of our position players getting work at first base. I think we have enough coverage. If the lineup looks like it would be better with (Jed) Lowrie over there, it’s something he’s done before, we could consider it.
“Preston Tucker’s not an option.
