CHICAGO — Although outfielder Kyle Tucker was ecstatic after the Astros picked him fifth overall in the draft Monday night, his older brother Preston estimates that he probably rejoiced a bit more.
The Astros chose Kyle Tucker out of Tampa’s Plant High a month and a day after Preston, 24, made his debut in the majors with the Astros.
Preston Tucker watched the draft telecast on the MLB Network inside the visitors’ clubhouse at U.S. Cellular Field Monday night before the Astros’ game against the White Sox.
“Once I heard it, I watched that little clip they had on him,” Preston Tucker said.
