The Astros should learn more about Scott Feldman’s right shoulder this week when he goes for further testing, but the veteran is not expected back in the rotation on this road trip, and it’s possible he won’t have enough time to make a return at all, which would be an unfortunate turn for the pitcher and team as the season winds down.
Feldman played catch Saturday and it didn’t go well. He received a cortisone shot last week to ease inflammation in the posterior cuff of his right shoulder.
The righty is to travel with the team to California for the start of a three-city, nine-game road trip Monday in Oakland.
