One day after Jake Marisnick made a brilliant diving catch on Tal’s Hill, right fielder George Springer made the defensive play of the game Sunday afternoon with a perfect throw home for an inning-ending double play in the third inning.
Springer’s throw proved crucial as the Astros held on to complete the four-game sweep with a 7-6 victory over the Mariners before a crowd of 25,283 at Minute Maid Park.
The Mariners’ Dustin Ackley led off the third with a double to left. Brad Miller followed with an RBI triple into the right field corner.
