CINCINNATI – Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred’s office has regular contact with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office regarding the ongoing investigation of the St. Louis Cardinals’ alleged hacking of the Astros’ proprietary computer database.
“With respect to this incident you have to begin with the understanding that this is not our investigation,” Manfred said during his annual Q&A session with the Baseball Writers Association of America. “It’s an investigation that is being conducted by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney. We have regular contact with them in terms of progress, when they expect to be finished, those sorts of things.
