ARLINGTON -- Astros catcher Brian McCann flew to Houston on Tuesday to meet with team medical director Dr. David Lintner ahead of having surgery on his right knee, manager AJ Hinch said. The Astros placed McCann on the disabled list Tuesday with a sore right knee for the second time this season.
Hinch wouldn't say what type of surgery McCann would undergo and when the procedure would take place, except to say the team would be without McCann "for the foreseeable future." General manager Jeff Luhnow, who is with the team in Arlington, declined to comment.
