Although most Astros fans might be surprised to see third baseman Luis Valbuena leading the club with three home runs, he’s not.
“Not surprising,” Valbuena said after the Astros beat the Angels 4-3 Sunday afternoon. “We have a lot of people who can hit a lot of home runs. Everybody is making their adjustments.
“I’m not trying to hit the home runs. We truly have a good team. I’m just trying to connect with the ball, and thankfully it goes out of the ballpark.”
Valbuena, who was acquired in the offseason trade that sent Dexter Fowler to the Chicago Cubs, gave the Astros a 2-0 lead with his two-run home run the opposite way to left in the third inning.
