ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Outfielder L.J. Hoes is on his way to meet the Astros from Class AAA Fresno and is to be activated for the final game of the first half. The righthanded hitting outfielder gives the Astros another option against Sunday’s starter for the Rays, lefty Matt Moore.
A corresponding move isn’t yet known, but may involve a starting pitcher.
In 70 games at Fresno, Hoes is hitting .327 with a .400 on-base percentage and .461 slugging percentage.
