The Houston Astros placed Lancaster JetHawks catcher Garrett Stubbs on the 7-day Disabled List on Friday and assigned catcher Richard Gonzalez from the Tri-City Valley Cats to Lancaster.
Stubbs, the 22-year-old, left-handed hitting backstop, was the Houston Astros 8th round pick in the 2015 Draft out of the University of Southern California. He had played in 11 games for the JetHawks this season and was hitting .212/.341/.303 with no home runs and 11 RBIs before landing on the DL. There isn’t any information available at this time, concerning the extent of his injury.
Richard Gonzalez, another 22-year-old catcher, was selected by the Houston Astros in the 29th round of the 2014 Draft out of the Alabama State.
