The Astros have an extraordinary pair of lefthanded bats in Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez. So far this season, Tucker’s performance is headed directionally toward a career year. (And that’s saying something, because his previous seasons have been very good.) Currently, Yordan has been slumping—by his standards anyway—and we hope for a return to his surge from early in the season.
Some MLB rankings on Tucker’s season so far:
- Tucker is No. 1 in WAR (3.4). He is ahead of Shohei Ohtani and Bobby Witt, Jr. (3.2 each).
- Tucker is No. 2 in wRC+ (201), behind only Ohtani (205).
