Jose Altuve’s career-long on-base streak is up to 28 games, tying the longest on the club since Michael Bourn did the same from 2010-11. The Astros second baseman reached base every game in August, including the last in Monday’s 8-3 win over the Mariners, when he had three hits.
Altuve’s 45 hits in August were the most in the majors on the month (he hit .375, 45-for-120, with a .411 on-base percentage) and tied the club record for August, matching Jesus Alou’s mark from 1970.
