Jon Singleton named Pacific Coast League Player of Month for May

Class AAA Fresno first baseman Jon Singleton, who drove in 10 runs on May 13, was named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Month for May.

Singleton, 23, drove in 37 runs in 29 games in May, hitting .286 (32-for-112) with 10 home runs, seven doubles, one triple and a .367 on-base percentage and .634 slugging percentage.

The 6-2, 225-pound Singleton hit .168 with 13 home runs and 44 RBIs in 95 games during his rookie season in the majors last year. He was one of the last players optioned to the minors in spring training this march as the Astros settled the roster.
