Astros catcher Jason Castro and designated hitter Evan Gattis are bracing for the possibility of heading into an arbitration hearing against the club next month.
As part of the arbitration process, the club and both men filed proposed contract figures earlier this month ahead of potential hearings.
“There’s really no new information or news or anything like that,” said Castro, who filed for $5.25 million while the Astros filed $5 million for him. “We’re kind of at an impasse right now.
“It’s obviously some uncharted territory for us. We would have liked to ideally come to an agreement, but this is part of the process.
